Metal shares Tata Steel and Hindalco industries along with telecom majors Idea Cellular and Bharti Airtel were among the top gainers on the NSE on Wednesday morning. At 10.39 am Tata Steel led the pack on the bourse, trading at Rs 209, against Rs 201.40 at close yesterday. This represented a gain of 3.77 per cent.
Idea Cellular rode up 3.51 per cent to quote at Rs 144.60. The share had closed yesterday’s session at Rs 139.70.
Bharti Airtel was up 3.33 per cent at Rs 333.40 against Rs 322.65 overnight.
Hindalco Industries was on a firm wicket, trading at Rs 70.25. This represented a gain of 3.01 per cent on its previous close at Rs 68.20.
Tata Motors rode up 2.63 per cent to quote at Rs 296.35 against Rs 288.75 at close yesterday.
