MphasiS has informed the exchanges that a meeting of the board of directors of the company is being convened on January 31 to consider a proposal of buyback of its own equity shares. Currently, 60.42 per cent stake in the company is controlled by the promoters and 39.58 by the public (including LIC and Aberdeen). Some 26,439 retail investors hold 2.36 per cent stake in MphasiS. Investors will be keen to know about the price, quantum and mode of buyback.
