NHPC shares slipped as much as 3.6 per cent to Rs 24.05, its lowest since August 3, on weak quarterly results.
The company, engaged in electricity generation, has reported a 14.5 per cent drop in profit for the quarter ended June 30. NHPC's quarterly sales fell 8.5 per cent to Rs 2,129 crore ($306.14 million).
NHPC stock posted its biggest intraday percentage fall since July 16. The company shares had fallen 23.6 per cent this year as of last close.
