NMDC was on a firm footing in the morning session on the NSE on Wednesday. At 10.50 am the share was trading at Rs 138.10, up 2.75 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 134.40.
Metal stocks were also trading firm, with Tata Steel gaining 2 per cent to trade at Rs 397.45. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 389.65.
The market continued its downtrend today with the Sensex shedding over 270 points on heavy selling by FIIs. The Nifty also moved lower, shedding over 40 points in the session.
Sesa Sterlite gained 1.11 per cent at Rs 195.75 as against Rs 193.60 at close yesterday.
Reliance Industries gained 1.09 per cent to trade at Rs 874. The share had closed Tuesday’s session at Rs 864.60.
HDFC was also among the top gainers during the session, trading at Rs 1,091.50. This represented a gain of 0.43 per cent on its previous close at Rs 1,086.85.
