NSE auto index and TVS Motor hit record highs on strong May sales.
Shares of Hero MotoCorp Ltd and TVS Motor Co Ltd rose as much as 2 per cent and 5.8 per cent, respectively.
TVS Motor hit a record high after reporting about 16 per cent rise in total sales for May. Hero MotoCorp posted a 8.7 per cent rise in two-wheeler sales in May.
TVS stock posted biggest intraday percentage gain since November 30. Nifty Auto Index rose as much as 0.9 per cent to a record high level.
But Bajaj Auto Ltd fell as much as 2.3 per cent after posting a 10 per cent fall in sales.
