NTPC surged nearly 5 per cent in the morning session on the BSE on Thursday. At noon it was trading at Rs 160.95 as against Rs 154.05 at close yesterday.
Metal shares Sesa Sterlite and Tata Steel were also on the uptrend during the session. Sesa Sterlite gained 3.26 per cent to trade at Rs 199.30 as against Rs 193 at close on Wednesday.
Tata Steel rode up 2.49 per cent at Rs 333.95. The share had closed yesterday’s session at Rs 325.85.
Tata Motors gained 2.34 per cent to trade at Rs 564 as against Rs 551.10 at close on Wednesday.
BHEL moved up 2.08 per cent to quote at Rs 263 as against Rs 257.65 at close yesterday.
