Capital market regulator SEBI will benefit the most from the e-book launched by the NSE. It is a compilation of more than 2,000 orders by the Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT), said G Mahalingam, whole time member SEBI.

“The e-book will come in handy for reference while presiding over cases and passing orders. Otherwise, to find past SAT orders was a tedious task,” Mahalingam said.

The NSE’s e-book will be available on subscription basis and will be updated regularly. The e-book is the brain-child of VR Narasimhan, Chief of Regulations, NSE.

“All the SAT orders have been compiled regulation-wise, which will come in handy not only for regulators and legal professionals but even students who may otherwise find it difficult to dig through past orders,” said Narasimhan.

SAT is a quasi-judicial authority for capital market related cases and has passed several landmark judgments that were upheld by the Supreme Court.
