Petronet LNG Ltd rose as much as 4.6 per cent to its highest since April 21.
At about 10.15 am, the stock was quoting at Rs 435.95, up Rs 7.10 or 1.66%.
The company's March-quarter profit jumped 92 per cent to Rs 471 crore ($72.83 million), topping analysts' average estimate of Rs 392 crore rupees.
Petronet has recommended 50 per cent dividend for fiscal year ended March 2016 vs 25 per cent year earlier.
The company has also announced bonus shares in 1:1 ratio.
Morgan Stanely analysts point to a steady growth. They say Petronet delivered “positive surprise on volumes, indicating stable LNG demand in the country".
The stock posted its biggest intra-day percentage gain since April 12.
