The Nifty and the Sensex closed marginally in the red on Friday.The Nifty closed at 5684 down 34 points while the Sensex closed at 18682, down 110 points.
“Nifty has been moving in a compact range of 5635-5725 for last 9 trading sessions. And normally such type of movement has not lasted for long. So, soon we are going to see a break from this range.
However, until then, indecision continues and no trading decision may be taken till this range is broken. Market is waiting for post-reform actions and further triggers to decide market movement,” said Mr. Rakesh Goyal Senior VP Bonanza Portfolio.
All the indices barring the CNX FMCG closed in the red. Volatility was down 1.5 per cent and the India Vix closed at 14.54.
ITC, Ambuja Cement, Dr Reddy, Infy, and Bharti Airtel were the top five Nifty gainers while Jindal Steel, Hindalco, BHEL, BPCL and Grasim were the top losers.
