Power sector shares stayed ahead of the pack on the BSE near the close on Friday. At 3.10 pm Tata Power was the top gainer on the bourse, trading at Rs 90.25. This represented a gain of 2.56 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 88.
BHEL shed some of its morning gains by the close. It was trading at Rs 292.10, up 1.72 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 287.15.
NTPC also came off its morning highs by close to trade at Rs 143.8 as against Rs 141.85 at close yesterday. This represented a gain of 1.37 per cent.
Wipro looked up to trade at Rs 607.20 as against Rs 601.55 at close on Thursday. This represented a gain of 0.94 per cent.
Sesa Sterlite also jumped up 0.72 per cent at Rs 201.85. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 200.40.
