Shares of Power Grid Corp of India Ltd rose as much as 2.4 per cent to Rs 211.95, their biggest intraday percentage gain in over 2 weeks, on March-quarter results.
The company has reported 4.6 per cent rise in its Q4FY18 net profit on the back of better revenue and operating income. It has posted a net profit of Rs 2,004.7 crore against Rs 1,916.4 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.
Revenues were up 16.5 per cent at Rs 7,811.3 crore against Rs 6,705.6 crore. Other expenses surged 47 per cent to Rs 815 crore. However, earnings missed analyst estimate, according to Thomson Reuters data.
More than 7.7 million shares traded as of 0544 GMT, compared with the 30-day average trading volume of 8.1 million shares.
