Banking stocks were in the limelight on Monday morning on the BSE. At 10.10 am Axis Bank was the top gainer, trading at Rs 564. This represented a gain of 2.17 per cent on its previous close at Rs 552.
HDFC Bank was trading at Rs 1,051, up 2.02 per cent on its Friday close at Rs 1,030.20.
Coal India rode up 1.78 per cent at Rs 401.05 as against Rs 394.05 at close last week.
Tata Motors rode up 1.58 per cent at Rs 439.75 as against Rs 432.90 at close on Friday.
ICICI Bank was the other private bank on the ascendant, trading at Rs 309.20, up 1.51 per cent on its previous close at Rs 304.60.
