Private sector banks Axis Bank, HDFC, and ICICI Bank were in the limelight in the morning session on the BSE on Friday. At 10.20 am HDFC led the pack on the bourse, trading at Rs 1,148.40. This represented a gain of 2.22 per cent on its previous close at Rs 1,123.45.
Axis Bank was up 2.10 per cent at Rs 512.50 as against Rs 501.95 at close yesterday.
The market opened the day on a firm note with the Sensex shooting up nearly 300 points and the Nifty trading up by nearly 80 points on ample capital inflows.
Tata Motors sped up 1.91 per cent to trade at Rs 507.75. The share had ended Thursday’s session at Rs 498.25.
ICICI Bank gained 1.86 per cent to trade at Rs 359.25 as against Rs 352.70 at close overnight.
BHEL maintained its firm undertone to notch up gains of 1.57 per cent at Rs 272.50 as against Rs 268.30 at close yesterday.
