Punjab Alkalies & Chemicals has announced that there was an accident in its plant at Nangal Una Road, Naya Nangal, Ropar, Punjab, on May 15. Following an explosion, a fire broke out in the plant. Though the fire was controlled soon, it resulted in one casualty, the company said in a statement to the bourses. The incident is not expected to have any significant impact on the business operations of the company. The stock of Punjab Alkalies slumped 4.93 per cent at ₹45.35 on the BSE.
