Reliance Communications has received final approval from the Department of Telecommunications for demerger of the wireless Business of Sistema Shyam Teleservices into it. However, brand MTS will continue to operate. SSTL will get 10 per cent stake in RCom.
With this, Rcom is expected to get additional annual revenue of about Rs 700 crore. It will also acquire 30 MHz and the superior 800/850 MHz band spectrum, ideally suited for 4G LTE services.
