The Nifty realty index surged as much as 5.65 per cent to post its biggest intra-day percentage gain since March 2.
At about 12 noon, the index was up 3.54 per cent.
DLF Ltd (+8.09%), HDIL (+7.34%), IB Real Estate (+6.22%) were among the top gainers.
The index fell 11.60 per cent on Wednesday to its lowest since May 6 following Prime Minister Modi's surprise move to withdraw larger banknotes from circulation
“It is just a bounce back and it will fizzle out,” said Saurabh Jain, assistant vice-president of research at SMC Global Securities
The index is up 1.51 per cent this year as of Wednesday's close, compared with a 6.11 pct rise in the broader NSE index.
