Bank stocks continued to show a weak trend in the early hours of trading on Friday with SBI being a major loser among the Bankex stocks on the BSE.
Only two of the Bankex stocks were up with the Bankex index down by about 138 points.
SBI lost Rs 52.60 to trade at Rs 2,032.60, Axis Bank shed Rs 27.35 to trade at Rs 1,031.05 and ICICI Bank was down by Rs 6.35 at Rs 851.20.
PNB was another major loser, trading at Rs 830.55, a loss of Rs 13.65. Kotak Mahindra was down by Rs 12.75 at Rs 568.70.
HDFC Bank, which had managed to be in the green, was down by Rs 2.90 at Rs 549.65.
Only Bank of India, which was up by Rs 1.40 at Rs 335, and Canara Bank, which was trading at Rs 431, a gain of Rs 1.60, were in the green.
