After a see-saw trading session on Wednesday, the Nifty and the Sensex closed flat.
The Nifty was down 2 points and closed at 5,220.45. The Sensex closed at 17,145.52, down 28 points.
“The market could go down further before the Budget and the monetary policy,” said the Head of research of an Indian brokerage.
All the indices on NSE and BSE ended flat.
The volatility index, India Vix lost one point and closed at 26.33.
JP Associates, R Power, HCL Tech, HDFC Bank and Bajaj Auto were the top five Nifty gainers.
The top five Nifty losers were Sterlite, Sesa Goa, NTPC, PowerGrid and Jindal Steel.
