Indian stock indices closed marginally in the red on Wednesday.
The Nifty closed at 4,741, down 24 points and the Sensex closed at 15,885, down 57 points.
“It has been a mixed bag throughout the day,” said a dealer of an Indian brokerage.
“Though the investor believes that there is lack of confidence and euro zone is still a problem, markets in Europe are still marginally in the green.”
Volatility was up one per cent and the India Vix closed at 26.41.
Banks, pharma and metal stocks, however, rallied on Wednesday.
