The Nifty and the Sensex closed flat on Monday after a see-saw trading session and weak global cues.
The Nifty closed at 5704, up seven points while the Sensex closed at 18763, up seven points.
Market –men said the US elections On November 6 are the most important being watched this week.
“European stocks were down on concerns of Greece’s bailout plans,” said Alex Mathews, Head-Research, Geojit BN Paribas Financial Services.
All the indices on the NSE closed flat. Volatility was high and the volatility index India Vix closed at 14.63, up seven per cent.
Kotak Bank, ITC, Asian Paints and Dr Reddy were the top five Nifty gainers while Hindalco, Bajaj Auto, Jindal Steel, JP Associates and DLF were the top losers.
