Metal scrips Tata Steel and Sesa Sterlite made rapid gains in the afternoon session to emerge the top gainers on the bourses in late trading on Tuesday. At 3.40 pm Tata Steel was the top gainer on the NSE as well, trading at Rs 333.50, up 4.84 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 318.10.
Sesa Sterlite vaulted 3.26 per cent to trade at Rs 197.75. The share had closed Monday’s session at Rs 191.50.
Bajaj Auto made further ground to trade at Rs 2,094.55. This was a gain of 2.86 per cent on its previous at Rs 2,036.40.
NTPC steamed up 2.76 per cent to quote at Rs 156.30 as against Rs 152.10 at close on Monday.
M&M drove up gains of 2.11 per cent to trade at Rs 1,268.85 as against Rs 1,242.65 at close yesterday.
