Spectrum auction to keep telecom firms in focus

Stocks of Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular and Reliance Communications will remain in focus, as the auction for spectrum heats up. Demand for frequencies to provide basic cellphone and high-speed Internet services are resulting in companies putting in aggressive bids. Failure to bag spectrum could severely impact the business of Idea Cellular, RCom and Bharti Airtel. Most telecom firms have already raised equity or monetised assets to participate in the auction.
