Gujarat Pollution Control Board has revoked its earlier closure order on SRF and said the site should resume operations at the earliest. Earlier, last Friday, GPCB had ordered SRF to shut down its Dahej unit for violating industrial waste disposal norms and for installing a calcium chloride plant without seeking the regulator’s permission. The GPCB, which inspected the chemical manufacturer’s industrial unit on March 25, found two tankers containing highly-concentrated effluents for which the company had not taken requisite approvals. Shares of SRF jumped 4.47 per cent at ₹2,487.10 on the BSE.
