The board of directors of Standard Industries on Thursday approved the investment of surplus funds in Duville Estates Pvt Ltd. Accordingly, the company acquired 7,23,857 equity shares of Duville Estates at ₹83 a share purchased from Stanrose Mafatlal Investments and Finance. As of date, the total investment in Duville Estates stands at 14,47,714 equity shares, which comprises 9.64 per cent of the paid-up share capital of Duville Estates Pvt Ltd, it said in a release to the stock exchanges. Shares of Standard Industries closed at ₹13.60, up 2.64 per cent, on the NSE.
