Steel Strips Wheels has bagged new export orders for caravan wheels & truck wheels for the US and EU trailer markets. The orders comprise about one lakh wheels to be shipped from October until December with a total value close to $3 million, it said in a statement to the exchanges. Repeat orders are expected in the months to come, the company said, and added that it is operating its truck-wheel facility in Chennai at 120 per cent utilisation, and additional capacity of 10 lakh wheels is expected to go on stream in phases starting in November 2018, till March 2019. Shares of SSWL slipped 0.82 per cent at ₹1,056.50 on the BSE.
