Trading members of the NSE may face connectivity problems at various times because of Sun Outage between March 5 and 18, the bourse has said in a release.
A Sun Outage is caused by an interruption in the geostationary satellite signals due to interference from solar radiation.
Trading in the capital market segment would continue to be normal during the Sun Outage period, the NSE said.
"Indian Space Research Organisation has informed us that there would be Sun Outage for INSAT-3A and INSAT-3E satellites affecting the VSAT connectivity from March 5, 2013 till March 18, 2013 due to which trading members may face connectivity problems at different times on different dates based on their geographical location during this period," the NSE said in a statement.
The outage will also affect the shared hub VSAT network of HCL Technologies Ltd between 13.55 IST and 14.30 IST, it added.
"Members are advised to use alternative mode of connectivity instead of VSAT during the above mentioned period for continuing trading without any disruptions on account of Sun," the statement said.
VSAT, or very small aperture terminal, is a two-way satellite ground station.
