The decision by the Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam to withdraw support for the Centre triggered a vertical fall in Sun group stocks of Sun TV and SpiceJet.

Sun TV crashed 5.5 per cent to Rs 413 and SpiceJet tumbled 4.35 per cent to Rs 31.85, a minute after the DMK Chief Karunanidhi announced withdrawal of support to the UPA Government.

Sun TV owner, Kanalinithi Maran is the grand nephew of Karunanidhi and his brother Dayanidhi Maran, a former minister in the Government, is a Lok Sabha member on DMK ticket.
