HDFC was the top gainer on the markets on Wednesday. The share led the pack on both the BSE and NSE today. At 3.15 pm the share was trading at Rs 1,330 on the NSE, up 3.26 per cent on its Monday close of Rs 1,288.
The markets were shut for a festival on Tuesday.
Tata Power Co charged up 2.68 per cent at Rs 86.35 as against Rs 84.10 at close on Monday.
ACC held firm to trade at Rs 1,653.75, up 2.43 per cent on its previous close at Rs 1,614.45.
HCL Technologies gained 2.31 per cent at Rs 2,030.65 as against Rs 1,984.85 at close previously.
Jindal Steel spiked up 2.20 per cent at Rs 155.50 as against Rs 152.15 at close on Monday.
The BSE Sensex and the NSE Nifty surged ahead on positive global cues and optimism over the annual Budget to be announced next week. The Sensex gained more than 200 points to settle above the 29,330 level, while the Nifty rose over 60 points to hover around the 8,870 mark.
