Tata Power was the top gainer on the BSE on Friday morning. At 10.49 am it held gains of 4.05 per cent to trade at Rs 86.15 as against its previous close at Rs 82.80.
Larsen & Toubro built up gains of 3.30 per cent to quote at Rs 1,735.50 as against Rs 1,680.05 at close yesterday.
Sesa Sterlite spiked up 3 per cent at Rs 214.55. The share had ended the overnight session at Rs 208.30.
Hindalco Industries spiked up 2.81 per cent to trade at Rs 153.90 as against Rs 149.70 at close yesterday.
Coal India shone in the morning session. It was quoting at Rs 394.25 as against Rs 384.20 at close on Thursday. This represented a gain of 2.62 per cent.
Both the Sensex and the Nifty traded in the positive zone on buying support ahead of the tabling of the Economic Survey in Parliament. The Sensex gained nearly 150 points to hover just below the 28,900 level, while the Nifty rose nearly 50 points to perch above the 8,730 mark.
