Tata Power held on to most of its morning gains ahead of the close on the BSE. The company on Saturday said the electricity regulator had given it the green signal to raise the tariff on its Mundra project in view of the hike in the price of imported coal. At 3.15 p.m. the Tata Power stock was trading at Rs 82.60, up 4.96 per cent on its earlier close of Rs 78.70.
BHEL held steady to trade at Rs 156.25, up 3.82 per cent on last week's close of Rs 150.50.
Axis Bank was trading at Rs 1,234.70, up 3.78 per cent on its previous close of Rs 1,189.75.
Larsen & Toubro was trading at Rs 1,080.90, a gain of 2.79 per cent on its earlier close of Rs 1,051.60.
Dr Reddy's resumed its recent firm trend to quote at Rs 2,797.15. This represented a gain of 2.49 per cent on its earlier close of Rs 2,729.20.
