Cipla was broadly firm on Wednesday, leading the pack on both the BSE and NSE. It closed the day at Rs 612.90 on the NSE, up 3.82 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 590.35.
Tata Steel made gains of 3.6 per cent at Rs 305.05 as against Rs 294.45 on Tuesday evening.
Hindustan Unilever edged up further to hold gains of 3.25 per cent at Rs 862.05. The share ended the overnight session at Rs 834.95.
Hindalco held firm to trade at Rs 118.55, up 3.09 per cent on its previous close at Rs 115.
Reliance Industries rode up 3.01 per cent at Rs 931.20 as against Rs 903.95 overnight.
