Tata Consultancy Services was the top gainer on the BSE in the afternoon trade on Friday.
TCS scrip was trading at Rs 2,043.95 at 12.15 p.m. against Thursday's close of Rs 2,008.60, up 1.76 per cent. The counter clocked a trading volume of 81,166 shares.
The company had posted a 35 per cent rise in net profit during the second quarter of this fiscal, reflecting the continuing good health of the sector.
