Shares of Torrent Power hit near 11-week high on March-quarter results. The stock climbed as much as 5.1 per cent to Rs 254.5, highest since March 16.
The stock was on track to gain for a fifth straight session. More than 1.8 million shares traded, versus their 30-day moving average of 718,984. The stock had fallen nearly 15 per cent this year up to Tuesday’s close.
Torrent Power Ltd had on Tuesday registered a standalone net profit of Rs 215 crore for the quarter ended March 2018 as against Rs 135 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter a year ago, showing a growth of 59 per cent year-on-year.
The company's total income from operations stood at Rs 2,798 crore for the quarter under review, against Rs 2,421 crore in the same quarter a year ago.
