Tyre stocks gained on falling rubber prices. Shares of tyre makers Apollo Tyres Ltd and TVS Srichakra Ltd were up over 2 per cent each in the morning trade.
MRF Ltd rose as much 3.25 per cent to an all-time high of ₹ 75,500. Ceat Ltd jumped as much as 4.1 per cent to ₹ 1,602, its highest since March 16.
The benchmark Tokyo Commodity Exchange rubber contract for September delivery dropped ¥2.9, or 1.6 per cent, to ¥178.7 per kg by 0032 GMT.
