Metal stock Vedanta maintained its firm undertone to lead the pack on the BSE near the close on Monday. At 3.05 pm the share was trading at Rs 231.40, up 6.05 per cent on its Friday close at Rs 218.20.
State Bank of India also jumped up 5.54 per cent to quote at Rs 276.30. The share had ended the previous session at Rs 261.80.
Hero MotoCorp also pressed ahead to notch up gains of 3.56 per cent at Rs 2,383.55. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 2,301.55.
Tata Motors made rapid strides in the afternoon session to post gains of 3.30 per cent at Rs 530.45. The share had closed the previous week at Rs 513.50.
HDFC built gains of 3.11 per cent at Rs 1,222.20 as against Rs 1,185.35 at close on Friday.
