Metal shares Vedanta and Hindalco Industries held on to their firm undertone to stay among the top gainers on the BSE on Monday. At 2.54 pm Vedanta was trading at Rs 110.25, up 6.42 per cent on its Friday close at Rs 103.60.
Hindalco Industries spiked up 5.62 per cent to trade at Rs 88.35 against Rs 83.65 at close last week.
GAIL (India) sailed 2.23 per cent at Rs 318.20 against Rs 311.25 at close previously.
BHEL rallied further to hold gains of 1.76 per cent to quote at Rs 205.60 against Rs 202.05 at close yesterday.
Tata Motors was firm but off early highs at Rs 361.4. This was a gain of 1.55 per cent on its previous close at Rs 355.90.
