Metal shares extended their recent firm run on the BSE into the Monday morning session. At 11.14 am Vedanta was the top gainer on the bourse, trading at Rs 110.30. This represented a gain of 6.47 per cent on its previous close at Rs 103.60.
Hindalco Industries rode up 4.60 per cent to quote at Rs 87.50 against Rs 83.65 at close last week.
Tata Motors was trading at Rs 364, up 2.28 per cent on its previous close at Rs 355.90.
Tata Steel spiked up 2.19 per cent to quote at Rs 256.25 against Rs 250.75 at close on Friday.
BHEL steamed up 1.31 per cent to quote at Rs 204.70 against Rs 202.05 at close yesterday.
