Metal and energy shares were among the top gainers on the NSE on Wednesday morning. At 10.59 am Vedanta was the top gainer on the NSE as well, trading at Rs 90.80 against Rs 85.70 at close yesterday. This was a gain of 5.95 per cent.
Hindalco Industries spiked up 3.73 per cent to quote at Rs 77.80. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 75.
Cairn India sailed up 3.72 per cent to quote at Rs 164.70 against Rs 158.80 at close overnight.
ONGC flared up 2.43 per cent to trade at Rs 253.35 against Rs 247.35 at close yesterday.
Bajaj Auto spurted 2 per cent to trade at Rs 2,424.25 against Rs 2,376.75 at close last evening.
