Vedanta held firm to keep gains of 6.09 per cent in late trading on the BSE on Friday. At 3.14 pm the share was trading at Rs 96.7 against Rs 91.15 at close yesterday.
ONGC also traded steady to hold gains of 5.76 per cent at Rs 244.05 against Rs 230.75 at close on Thursday.
Bharti Airtel dialled gains of 4.71 per cent at Rs 363.7 against Rs 347.35 at close overnight.
Bajaj Auto rode up 3.92 per cent at Rs 2,275.1 against Rs 2,289.30 at close overnight.
GAIL (India) flared up 3.36 per cent to quote at Rs 290.35 against Rs 280.9 at close on Thursday.
