Metal and pharma shares were among the top gainers on the BSE on Thursday morning. At 10.34 am Vedanta spiked up 6.37 per cent to trade at Rs 91 against Rs 85.55 at close yesterday.
HDFC built gains of 5.47 per cent at Rs 1,162.80 against Rs 1,102.45 at close overnight.
Lupin gained 3.21 per cent at Rs 1,870 against Rs 1,811.80 at close on Wednesday.
Tata Steel advanced 3.11 per cent at Rs 222.20 against Rs 215.50 previously.
Cipla perked up 2.98 per cent at Rs 655 against Rs 636.05 at close yesterday.
