The ₹750-crore buyback offer of HEG will open on Friday and close on March 22. Through the offer the company aims to buy back 13.63 lakh shares at ₹5,500 a share. As the offer is through the tender route on proportionate basis, only those shareholders whose names appeared on its record book as of February 9 can participate in the buyback. The promoter group had expressed its intention to participate in the buyback offer. HEG on Thursday closed at ₹2,231.10.
