Shares of Zee Media Corp Ltd jumped as much as nearly 17 per cent to Rs 29.90, in their biggest intraday percentage gain in over three weeks.
The news broadcasting services company had on Monday posted over nine-fold rise in September-quarter net profit at Rs 17.25 crore ($2.33 million). Second-quarter revenue jumped 35.5 per cent to Rs 169 crore.
More than 2.5 million shares changed hands, 9.2 times their 30-day moving average of 274,587 shares. As of last close, Zee Media's market cap rose about Rs 200 crore after the results were announced. Up to last close, the stock had fallen 45.3 per cent this year ($1 = 73.8850 Indian rupees).
