Shares of Tata Motors today fell 3 per cent after the company reported a decline in its total vehicle sales for December 2013.
The auto major’s scrip opened the day on a lower note and further slipped 2.8 per cent to Rs 361.50 on the BSE. On the NSE, the stock was down 3 per cent to Rs 361.15.
Tata Motors had yesterday reported 42.28 per cent decline in its total vehicle sales at 37,852 units for December 2013. The company had sold 65,582 units in the same month last year.
Total passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market stood at 9,272 units, down 34.63 per cent from 14,185 units. In the commercial vehicles segment, the company’s sales declined 45.83 per cent to 25,738 units from 47,515 units.
Exports declined 26.79 per cent to 2,842 units from 3,882 units.
