Shares of Tinplate Company of India on Thursday soared over 9 per cent after Tata Steel increased its stake by 14 per cent.
After surging 14.8 per cent during the day, shares of the company on the BSE settled at Rs 54.70, up 9.4 per cent from the previous close.
At the National Stock Exchange, the stock ended at Rs 54.4, up 8.8 per cent.
In terms of volume, 4.95 lakh shares of the company changed hands on the BSE, while nearly 11 lakh shares were traded on the NSE.
On the other hand, Tata Steel shares fell 0.01 per cent to Rs 350.65 on the BSE.
Tata Steel now holds 73.44 per cent stake in Tinplate.
