The combined market valuation of top seven Sensex companies fell by Rs 33,988 crore in the past week with Sun Pharmaceutical, RIL and HDFC emerging as the biggest losers.
While TCS, RIL, ITC, Sun Pharma, Infosys, SBI and HDFC witnessed erosion in their valuation, ONGC, HDFC Bank and CIL made gains.
The market capitalisation (m-cap) of Sun Pharma slumped Rs 9,035.89 crore to reach Rs 2,32,394.56 crore.
RIL’s m-cap plunged by Rs 8,252 crore, to Rs 2,83,854.26 crore, and that of HDFC tanked Rs 8,102.59 crore to touch Rs 1,94,661.32 crore.
The valuation of SBI slipped by Rs 3,253.47 crore and was at Rs 2,10,454.07 crore as of Friday’s closing price, and Infosys shed Rs 2,228.04 crore, to Rs 2,32,267.04 crore.
TCS’s m-cap dipped by Rs 1,753 crore and declined to Rs 5,11,345.53 crore and that of ITC fell by Rs 1,362.64 crore, to Rs 2,61,907.10 crore.
In contrast, valuation of CIL surged Rs 10,485.17 crore to reach Rs 2,47,159.34 crore and HDFC Bank added Rs 6,512.81 crore to touch Rs 2,63,717.52 crore.
The m-cap of ONGC climbed Rs 6,416.62 crore and was at Rs 2,82,288.40 crore.
TCS stood at number one position followed by RIL, ONGC, HDFC Bank, ITC, CIL, Sun Pharma, Infosys, SBI and HDFC.
The BSE benchmark Sensex fell by 129 points to close at 27,828.44 last week.
