IT stocks were back in the reckoning with two of the five IT majors hitting fresh 52-week highs this morning.
The CNX IT made a strong show gaining about 155 points at about 11 a.m.
Wipro gained Rs 20.55 to trade at Rs 573.25. The stock touched a fresh yearly high of Rs 577.70 before easing a bit.
HCL Tech was the other IT major to reach a new yearly high of Rs 1,416.95. It was trading at Rs 1,409.20, a gain of Rs 29.55.
TCS, which has been under some pressure post Q3 results, bounced back this morning gaining Rs 58.20 to trade at Rs 2,271.25. Infosys was trading at Rs 3,741.55, a gain of Rs 11.80 and Tech Mahindra was up by Rs 32.75 to Rs 1,808.
Smaller IT stocks too witnessed smart gains. MindTree gained Rs 41.15 to trade at Rs 1,462, CMC was up by Rs 40.95 at Rs 1,463.60, and eClerx Services was trading at Rs 1,120, a gain of Rs 24.25. Persistent Systems and NIIT Tech were the other major gainers, up by about Rs 13 each.
