Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance Company Ltd plans to hire 3,000 personal financial advisers for its operations in south India.

Addressing reporters after opening a branch here, Jun Hemmi, Executive Director, Edelweiss Tokio Life, said “With the opening of the second branch, we expect the region to be a growth driver for Edelweiss Tokio Life in the country and aim to meet the insurance needs of one lakh lives in Karnataka by 2015.”

“The company has set a target to recruit a team of 3,000 Personal Finance Advisors (PFAs) in the South by 2015. These advisors will be trained through a rigorous training module to offer need-based life insurance solutions to customers,” he added.

Yash Mohan Prasad, Chief Agency Officer, Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance, said, “We have extensively trained our staff to understand the customer needs and to address it accordingly. I believe that this customer-oriented approach will be a key differentiator for us and will lead to a highly satisfied insurance consumer base.”

The company has been expanding its presence in a phased manner.

In addition to Karnataka, the company now has a presence in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi, NCR, Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Goa and Andhra Pradesh with 38 branches and will also roll out operations in East during the course of the year.
