ICICI Academy launches centre in Chennai

ICICI Academy for Skills has launched its Chennai centre as a part of its corporate social responsibility. ICICI Bank’s Executive Director, N.S. Kannan, said the academy will offer 8-12 week training courses in in selling skills, office administration and web designing for graduates.

ICICI Academy has framed the courses with knowledge partners such as Tally Solutions and NIIT. “We are also in the process of generating the content for other courses such as electrical and home appliance repairing, refrigeration and air-conditioning and motor and pump repairing for tenth pass-outs,” said Kannan.

The academy has tied up with Blue Star, Crompton Greaves and Schneider Electric to develop content for these courses. It will train 5,000 youth across the country in the first year of operation. The trained candidates can register themselves in an online job portal created by ICICI Foundation, which will be promoted among potential employers, he said.
