Kerala-based gold loan NBFC, Manappuram General Finance and Leasing Ltd, has changed its name to Manappuram Finance Ltd with effect from Friday, according to a press release by the company. This follows the final approval for the change in name by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
Consequent to the change, a new certificate of incorporation has been issued by the Registrar of Companies, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Manappuram Finance, one of the major players in the gold loan sector in the country, has not been involved in any leasing activity for many years. Hence, the management decided to change the name accordingly, Mr V. P. Nandakumar, Executive Chairman, said in the release.
