Punjab National Bank (PNB) has opened a specialised Retail Asset Branch, first of its kind in the State for speedy delivery of retail loans to customers at Bank Street, here. The branch will have staff specialising in retail products.
Mr S. Ranganathan, Field General Manager (South), PNB, formally opened the branch on Tuesday. He also distributed retail loans worth more than Rs 1 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the bank was at the forefront in providing quality service and a range of retail products in education, housing, car loans etc. The bank was celebrating “Savings Fund campaign' from August 1, to September 30, 2001 ” and is offering a basket of free products with each savings account.
PNB has a network of 86 branches and 81 ATMs in Andhra Pradesh. Its total business is Rs 9,800 crore. It has financed Rs 1,120 crore to priority sector (Rs 456 crore to agriculture). About 8,500 self-help groups have been financed, according to a press release.
